Why'd you pick your goal length?

We have the little thing under our profile picture that says our length goal, etc. But! Why do you have that particular length as your ideal? Aesthetic preference? Styling ease? Personal challenge? Everyone has different goal lengths and we decided on them differently! Let's hear it!

Personally mine's hip. I think it's a flattering length and still has the "ease" of lengths like.. bsl or apl in that it isn't as likely to get caught in things like doors. And with hip length you can do almost any hairstyle (from what I've seen) and it makes a decent sized bun!

mine is waist.
because i have seeing hair tapering to a point at the waist (or a V cut), i think it's feminine and flattering. ergo i would love to see it on me (again).

a healthy mane is always attractive. its one thing to be clean and presentable, but to crown it off puts the icing on the cake.

Mine is waist, because I've seen beautiful waist length hair on people (mainly on the internet, not really in real life much).

I picked terminal length, because I've always thought it would be fun to see just how long it can get. However, to be realistic, if I am ever lucky to have hair even down to my knees I would be very happy. I'd then try for floor and after that decide if I want to stick with floorlength or go back to knee or calf-length.

Well, right now my goal is tailbone. Once I get there, I may very well decide to go longer (after I maintain long enough to grow out my layers). I chose that length because of aesthetics as well as practicality. I think it will look nice, but it will not be any harder to care for than my current length (just short of hip). I haven't decided yet if I want to be able to sit on my hair!

The Hair Of My Dreams has always - like, since I was in kindergarten - been between waist and tailbone. Now that you ask, I'm pretty sure that's because I was that age in the late 60s/early 70s, and we lived near the SF Bay Area in a university town, and beautiful long hair was just about everywhere I looked, both in person and in the media. I think we never really get over what was "cool" when we were little!
