Here's my attempt at the woven bun. Thank you Little Bird, that was deceptively easy to do and I may well remember it and wear it again from time to time.

aaperez, How about trying this? I don't know if there is a propper name for it I just call it a braided loop.
    1. Put your hair in a basic braid using an elastic at the base and at the end.
    2. Loop the thin end back up so that the two elastics are together.
    3. Pin or tie the two elastics together, I normally use a broach or ribbon.
    4. If everything has gone right you should have a braided loop.

Sorry I don't have a picture for reference.

I'm ready for another style, something simple and silly please...

OK, here's my attempt. I found a chopstick (yay!) but my hair is so slippery that stick styles have never worked for me. Hence, the messiness. lol (ignore the seemingly messy floor- it's a monopoly game un-finished. lol!)

Storm, how 'bout the Flower Bun?

Daniellerenae challenged me to a French Twist and I discovered it was sooo hard! I didn't have any hair pins or hair spray, so it was falling all over the place. I tried it first on dry hair and just couldn't find a way to style the left over hair at the top of the coil, in the end I just clipped it there.
I then tried the next morning on wet hair in the hope it would be more manageable, but I couldn't get it smooth and I couldn't get all the ends hidden - although the top was tucked in nicely. I wore it to work and it looked better as it dried, but I didn't get an end of day pic.
(I'm not sure if the pics are showing... if not, they are in my album)

Crown of Glory, you are now challenged to a 4D braid: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/...&articleid=162

Liss, care to try a sock bun?

Seems as if the TLHC tutorial had the pictures removed, so here's a YouTube tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8iZqobYaUk

I'd really like to try this again now I have a reasonable amount of hair to style

Beets, how about a curlsbun in the articles section, think it looks really pretty!

Monsterkitti, I was defeated!! The curlsbun IS pretty, but my hair is too long and heavy for it. I couldn't get one single pinned "curl" to stay, and I had a foot-long tail to deal with for each one, too!

    So what's your second choice?

Just jumping back in to follow up, not to play again.

Whew! The DD bun is DONE! Monsterkitti, that was a GOOD challenge. The picture is in my album.

Good luck, the lot of you!

Beets challenged me to the sock bun.
Pic in the link (since I can never get them to upload) http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/...ictureid=62731

That was a disaster! I just don't have enough thickness (less than 2" pony circumference) to be able to cover anything wider than a hair stick. Anyway, I gave it a go and now know for sure it's not for me.

Monsterkitti - how about you try the curlsbun
and so we don't get completely lost again with this game...
Beets - how about trying the crown braid

Liss- I want to see you with a french braid with maybe some little things in your hair.. flowers, sparkles? I don't know. That's what I want to see XD

But can anyone come up with anything for me? I have shoulder length curly hair, 2 inches past when pulled out. =/
