mine are custom made hand carved recreations of artifacts. Thats all I have.
It HAS to match my haircolor!
Durability is very important, my hair is a hairtoy-eater!
I need something simple to use every day. It should not outshine the beauty of my hair
Dangles! Beads! Sparkles!!! Oooh shiny *_*
It should be handmade and intricate, i appreciate the time spent on a work of art.
Most expensive ones. There must be a reason, riight?
Most comfortable ones ever. I cannot stand pulling/ damaging my hair no matter how pretty it is.
Hovering over the flexi8 website, this question came to my mind. So what exactly do you look for in a hairtoy?
Chin /// Shoulder /// APL /// BSL ///Waist /// Hip /// BCL /// Tailbone /// Classic (final goal) /// All one length Classic

None of the answers fit me. I buy the toys I like (aesthetics which can range from simple lines and plain colors to decorative inlay and frills), appear to be durable, and fit my budget at the time. The toy has to fit all three criteria.

Mod hat off. Mod hat on. Don't make me wear the mod hat, it messes up my hair. *grin*
Well, basically comfortable and reasonably non-damaging are my top priorities. Plus I need to like the look of course I like plain and simple (or classy, maybe ) the most!
It has to be pretty, sturdy and comfortable
I intend to be thought elegant, glamorous and extremely vulgar, because nothing is so glamorous as vulgarity, and there is nothing so vulgar as elegance.
I have to like the way it looks, in colors I like and that matches stuff I have. I buy sticks to match my clothes, I buy clothes to match my sticks. Basically I like to match.

This. Plus comfort and an expectation that it will actually stay in my hair! The aesthetics component of the equation has gotten the better of me from time to time and I've ended up with toys that just won't work in my hair- I have a hard time keeping hair sticks in, but they are so pretty!
It has to not clash with my hair.
Artisans with simple or unique lines, not too bulky.
To directly answer the flexi-8 part, I've selected based on the centerpiece. I only have two. One is a dragonfly, which has great meaning to me, and the other is very far out of my normal range: the Lunar New Year piece. Both were FOTM.
With the LNY piece, I felt that at Flexi's price point I could gamble.
I would not have taken an equivalent chance on a more expensive accessory.

Nevertheless, she persisted.
I prefer silver, grey or simply black high quality toys with a simple design. I don't switch very often and only own a few favorites that go well with everything else.
My hairtoys should be sturdy, handmade, hair friendly and good looking with my hair color!
