    Default ? lemon juice tips

has anyone ever used lemons for lightening for streaks? I do foils and was wondering if it was possible. I am really considering going to natural stuff to lighten like the cinnamon to lighten new growth. any tip swould be appreciated.

The big thing with lemon juice is to be careful: some people do well with it, some people find it fries their hair (I'm one of those.)

You won't get much of an effect color-wise from lemon; it will be subtle. I've heard that sunlight can help increase the effect.

Lemon juice can be very drying; I would recommend heading over to the honey thread - honey can lighten hair but it's far less harsh than lemon juice.

if you are sun sensitive, DON'T put lemon on your hair and go in the sun!

I burn fairly easily, and last time I tried lemon juice got a VERY nasty sun/chemical burn on my forehead.

Just being in the sun, for me, seems to be lightening my hair, though not as much as it does for some. My BF, for instance, has tons of platinum streaks = not fair!

There is, for most of us, the choice to be made: blonde again, or long/healthy hair. Your hair looks like it's pretty light already; maybe you can learn to like your natural color? Just a thought, from someone who bleached for 15+ years!

My friend uses chamomile herbal tea plus lemon juice in a spray bottle when in the sun and it lightens a lot. I tried it but it has no effect on my reddish hair yet, except tons of waves! It dries them a bit though

I used a honey mixture with a little bit of lemon. It worked well for me.

    Default Lemon juice

    You were lucky.

It was the "little bit of lemon" only that saved your results.

Hydrogen peroxide oxidizes Vitamin C and is depleted in doing so.

Lemon juice is not recommended for honey lightening recipes.

oddly enough I've had less damage and dryness from peroxide and bleach than with lemon juice!

if you have fragile or damaged hair in any way i would avoid it like the plague.
