    Default Spiral stick fan thread

Here's a thread for us to admire spiral/twisty sticks. They hold better than straight ones for me, and they look so cool. Here's a group photo of the types I have:

Left to right: WoodbyC double ended ribbon spiral in dymondwood, Ketylo dymondwood, Quattro shillelagh in unknown wood, Monkthemonk unicorn spiral in ebony, and ReDoodle ribbon spiral in maple and purpleheart

    Here's a close-up of the ReDoodle one:

And the shillelagh, which has a labradorite topper:

The topper is gorgeous but heavier than I prefer (and the whole thing feels a bit unbalanced).

Anyone else want to share pictures from their collections? What important spiral stick makers am I missing? I'd love to score a Mamacat ribbon spiral or a beetnik505 spiral (example) but am not optimistic about those. A MorgansMane purchase may be in my future.

Oh yay!!! I love this topic. I’ll pop back in tomorrow with pictures.

For me, my spirals have all come from Crockett Mountain Woodworks. Morgan’s mane and Redoodle are on my wish list.

Your collection of spirals is absolutely lovely!

Very pretty, julee! I don't have any acrylic sticks yet because I didn't think I liked acrylic, but you're inspiring me to try.

Glad you like it, C_Bookworm. I look forward to seeing your pics.

C_Bookworm, those are really pretty! How do you insert the claw ones? It seems like it would be hard to screw them in because of the curvature.

I actually left them out on purpose because the method of insertion is different. I wiggle my Ketylo fork in, while I screw my sticks in. However, spiral forks look equally awesome and you are welcome to share pictures of them too.

ETA: I can change the thread title if people want to post about forks!

Given my rather extensive collection of hairtoys, I only have a limited number of spirals. Here's a pic of one of them- a ReDoodle. It has a fossilized coral cabochon on the end. I also have a Morgan's Mane but it's a bit long for me and the finish is not as luxe as most of the sticks that I have. It's perfectly usable though.

Ha, it is a little different. You only get about one turn. So I insert it opposite the direction I want it to end up, and give it one firm turn. Holds like a charm!
