Default Henna on dry or wet hair?

I am sure there is a thread here but I can't find.
Maybe my english is too bad for the search function?

    So could someone please help?
Is it neccessary to apply henna on wet hair?
My hair is not so easy to handle when it is wet. It would be much easier to spererate when it is dry.

Would that be okay or is the result better when my hair was wet before?

And if there is a thread here would you please link?

Thanks so much and have a happy weekend!

I've always had more luck applying it to wet hair, easier to separate the hair and get down to the roots without matting/tangling the lengths. My first henna experience I tried it on dry hair and the whole experience was just a mess LOL but maybe that's just me

Your hair is easier to seperate when wet???
Oh...comb my hair when wet is nearly impossible.

But I will try. Maybe it works.

You can do it either way, whichever is easier for you. I don't use henna any more, but I've done it on both damp and dry (usually just doing the roots) and I always preferred to do it on dry hair.

I prefer applying henna on dry hair. It's easier to separate strand.

I only apply henna to dry hair. Much easier for me.

I've only done it on dry hair. It's easier for me to tell where I've applied it and where I need to... plus I think it'll absorb more thoroughly when it's the only moisture involved

    This.
Especially if I'm doing a roots only application, it's much easier for me to part my hair for application.
For a first time whole head application though, I would definitely recommend either slightly damp hair, or thinner henna for better coverage/less chance of patchiness. My first few henna applications went slightly awry because I applied too-thick paste to completely dry hair.

I would actually suggest applying henna on heavily oiled hair. I did so the last couple of times, and got excellent results!
