I currently have a cassia treatment on which I hope will help blend the two tones. I just feel so sad I can't use any of my hair toys or parandas or sticks now. Any motivational words to help get me through this? Thanks!
Positives: This is the shortest your hair is going to be for a very long time!
It drys faster! And requires less coloring, like cassia, in your case.
Growth is more noticeable so you feel like you make progress faster!
It means you're starting with fresh, healthy hair too!

That's what I was thinking too, thank you! It does definitely touch my shoulders when wet and I've noticed that I have usually about a half an inch difference between wet and dry. And lindsayhv, I would probably say half an inch as well you're so close! I agree with Puffer Fish that those are some very good positives to having this length of hair. Trying to add to the list myself!

Thanks guys! That's helpful when I'm feeling depressed about my short hair!! I feel like I have such a long hair growing road ahead of me!

    I'm still here
I think I have about 1 inch to go.
Going for no trims this year

Hoping we all get good growth this year and that we all get out of these awkward stages.

What helps you all get through this awkward length phase? I feel like my hair looks like an ugly mushroom and I just keep putting it up but then its in this little stubby ponytail which looks just as awful!

^ Have you tried braiding the front sections of your hair? Something like this.

If you do it on both sides of your part it can also keep those sections out of your face.

You can also get the medium size claw clips and clip your hair up in a french twist this way...

...though if you have layers some pieces may fall out at our length (like mine do) I just get the tiniest claw clips and clip those pieces back since they hold better for me than bobbypins most of the time.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you want more ideas .

Yes I like the idea of braiding the front. I do that sometimes. It's the back that is the problem i guess. My hair is pretty thick so I can't get in up in a clip like in those pics. Maybe if I do it in sections...I've also been wearing headbands and wraps just to make me feel a little better.

You might be able to do the headband tuck where you tuck the back section of hair around the headband like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NftCyRT0_nE

I'm working on that style myself you might also be able to clip it up if you put it in a ponytail first, I know if you can make a bun with the top half of your hair you can bring the bottom half up and around it...but that might take more growth. Here's the video I got this idea from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZvXrEOfJ4w
