xanthochromia, I don't have any advice as my hair is a very different type, but I just wanted to say that it's so great to read about your experience! I also joined this forum after a decision to accept my hair in its natural state, and to learn to treat it as it is, not as the hair I wish I had instead. :) I've seen the photo of your hair, and it looks beautiful.

It's a bit hard to tell from the angle, but it looks like it's at least brushing collarbone length? Definitely past shoulder! Btw, your hair is really pretty, I know you described it as awkward length, but I really don't see it! :) I think it's a cute length when the waves sort of pool around the shoulders/sit on them.

redfrau you definitely passed SL!
Congrats on the new milestone!
Just posting here to try and encourage everyone a bit! Seems like a little while ago that I was in this thread, I think about 3 years ago, and now I'm BSL! I did trim regularly though. So keep on going and growing and you'll get wherever you want to be before you know it!

Save for my fringe/bangs, I'm definitely at chin length, and my back layers are already at shoulder! But since it's all wavy and poofy from the humidity, it all looks around chin length, lol. When it's finger combed out, it's definitely past both chin and an inch or so past shoulder. Slowly getting there!

Thank you, Waveurly! The positive words are much appreciated ^.^ Congrats on BSL!!

I noticed when my hair was wet today, that the longest parts in the back are already at the very bottom of my neck!
My hair will likely be solid shoulder dry by the end of the summer, though not quite collarbone, which is what really feels like "shoulder".
I'll probably hang around in this thread until I'm solid collarbone length
Just trying to get by
