I'm retiring my TT. My hair is just too fine and fragile to use it. I've gotten quite a bit of broken hairs from my TT. I've noticed a lot of broken hairs, knots and snarled hairs in my TT when I clean it.
I caved and bought my tangle teaser from Sally's today after reading some of the reviews in this thread. I really love how it feels on my scalp and am excited to see how it goes through my hair when it's wet. Feels fabulous dry.

I bought a tangle teaser about a week ago. It was a bit pricey at £10 but it works great on my hair, wet or dry I'm tempted to buy one of the pocket ones to carry around with.
My shih tzu puppy who hates having his hair brushed (he trembles and runs away) has stolen my tangle teezer and LOVES it (he wags his tail and runs toward me when he sees it). I had to go buy myself a new one.
Haven't read the whole thread so please forgive any repeats. I bought my Tangle Teaser from Amazon and am totally in love with it!!!!
My sister has and extremely sensitive scalp, and beautiful, chestnut, S-curly, layered hair that loves to dredlock itself, so you can imagine the horrors of brushing. When she was little, we used Infusium 23 on her hair every morning just to brush it out, and got up early to tame her hair. Her hairs nickname is "the angry wolverine".
This brush will run through her unbrushed hair from root to tip and cause her NO pain. She calls it the Miracle Brush, and keeps threatening to steal it. In her eyes (and mine) it is the best thing since sliced bread!
I got a tangle teezer a few days ago from Sally's but decided to return it. It was around $10 so I figured I might as well try it. It did detangle my hair but the bristles were too short, it barely scratches my scalp when I brush and I just don't have the patience to section off my hair to brush it. For me it detangles okay, but I much prefer my wooden combs
I also found out that Sally's don't take returns on brushes so I had to get store credit don't know what else I would be interested in buying there
Almost there!
I also jumped on the tangle teezer bus. I like it, but I have a wooden (Aveda) paddle brush that is similar and much easier to handle. I don't know if it's a brush that would be popular on these boards, but I love it!! My hair is not too tangly and I don't notice it breaking when I use that brush. It feels so good on my scalp. I used it to blow dry my hair straight, but now I just use it to air dry straight
I got one a bit over a week ago. I love it. I haven't used my comb since then. I have noticed shed hairs all over it, but I think compared to those usually on my comb and BBB, less have come out. I wish my Sally's sold them in colors other than black and in versions I can slip into my bag.
My old metal-pin brush is retired since I bought a flashy orange tangle teezer! Detangling is more gentle with it. But anyway I do not start brushing down from the very top.
It is amazing how much dust and dirt it collects! Makes my hair very shiny!
