I started as a vegan in autumn (but quit it) after being 6 years a vegetarian, so I was watching it quite a lot. Now that I'm again vegetarian I still watch it (and have soy protein powder) so I think that I'm getting all that I need of it.

I don't track it now, but I have in the past and I'm aware of what I need to eat to get the right amount. It's really pretty difficult to be seriously deficient in protein consumption, especially if you eat meat, unless you have a very poor diet. Most people in the US get too much protein, not too little, and too much is also quite unhealthy. I try to be careful to keep my protein intake within the right range because excess consumption is linked to osteoporosis and that runs in my family.

I've tracked it in the past, and I'm usually at or just below the recommended allowance. I'm more interested in where I'm getting my protein from more than how much though, since I know I tend to consume what is for me the right amount, I eat light on organic chicken and beef, lots of dark leafy greens, nuts, and legumes. My fat intake is considered far over the top, but since I'm not gaining weight, I'm happy with where that is at too. My hair grows at a happy average rate, is strong, and healthy.

A balanced diet of plant materials contains enough amino acids for the body to make its own protein. Most people eat waay too much. Im vegan & I get plenty.

I'm not sure and if I had to guess, I'd say lately I'm not getting enough.

I don't track anything I eat, but I'm pretty sure I get more than enough proteins. If I worried about stuff like this, I'd worry more about not getting enough vitamins.

I focus on a high fat/low carbs way of eating, so I get enough protein just because usually fat and protein come from the same food sourse like fatty meat for example. Yum:]
