Default Attention article submitters!

If you're planning on submitting an article for the site, please use appropriate formatting. The moderators must proofread every submitted article before approval, and submitting your article in the best possible format would certainly make things easier. We're all volunteers and have limited time to spend here, so if you want your article approved quickly, please pay attention to formatting.

Bulleted lists: If you are going to make a list, please DO NOT USE ASTERISKS. Use the actual bullet list formatting provided by the text editor. If you don't want to use the button, you can insert the list code manually as follows (just remove the spaces):
[* ]blah blah blah
[* ]blah blah blah
This is what a properly formatted bullet list should look like:
• blah blah blah
• blah blah blah
• blah blah blah
This is what you should NOT do:
*blah blah blah
*blah blah blah
*blah blah blah

It takes a lot of time to remove the asterisks from every line, so please do us a favor and don't use them.

Numbered lists: Please use the numbered lists button in the text editor rather than manually numbering your items.

This is what a properly formatted bullet list should look like:
1. blah blah blah
2. blah blah blah
3. blah blah blah
This is what you should NOT do:
1) blah blah blah
2) blah blah blah
3) blah blah blah

Also note that just typing the numbers in doesn't make a numbered list. You need to either use the numbered list button or use the code (minus spaces):
[* ]blah blah blah
[* ]blah blah blah
Font:
Do not use an unusual or difficult-to-read font. Not only is it tough on the mod who has to approve your article, it's difficult for your general audience. We actually get quite a few complaints about articles with odd and/or tiny fonts that people can't read.

Thank you!

Just a small pointer.. shouldn't that \list be /list?

Yes it should - thank you! Too much editing in one day, I guess.

Can I at least reduce the font in my articles back to what the standard posts are? While I can see why some people felt the Garamond was too small, it seems like the entire article has been put into massive text and bolded.

And now some of my pictures are missing

ETA: Fixed the pictures and made them all sans serif fonts (Veranda 2 which I think is what posts are default in. If I'm wrong on the default someone please let me know. 3 looked way bigger than a standard post).

That should've been what was done by the editor, but the font sizes don't seem to add up. It's weird, because 2 is smaller than the default and 3 is larger, but there's no 2.5.

And yes, the tiny Garamond gets a lot of complaints. That's not to say that yours is the only one getting complaints, though - definitely not.

I don't know what happened to your pictures, but your article isn't in the queue anymore. I'm assuming it was approved? If not, please let me know and I'll look into it.

Several of Nightshade's articles were in the queue, so I approved them, but then I forgot to check on the formatting afterwards.

I always forget to check, too! (And I forget to check which section the article is filed in by the submitter.)

The most annoying thing about the articles editing process is that you can't see who submitted it until after you approve it. If you need to contact the submitter to ask for clarification or something, you can't.

I did post my thank you in the Honey thread but this is better, IMO.

Thank you to whoever took the time to edit the Honey Article.

I was still making changes to content during the submission process because of the nature of the Article being current recommendations.

I very much appreciate all of the time and effort spent on correcting my grammar and punctuation, to make the Article read and flow better.
