RebekahE I think the front looks 1c/2a and the back definitely 1b/1c, so I'd say it's mostly 1c

Jane99 Such an interesting mane, I think your hair looks mostly 1c with a lot of cumpling. So problably 1c/2a is right for you

That's mind boggling to think about. My hair has always been straighter than a stick. But the last 5 years or so it's slowly gotten more texture. My dad has some wave in his hair and my mom's hair has always had some more texture, and I think it's gotten more as she's gotten older.
It still doesn't hold wave or curl very well. I can have braid waves from damp braiding my hair and leaving it in for two days and they'll still be mostly fallen out within a few hours.
Stuck in the hip to tailbone abyss. Goal is to grow my hair to Classic, then trim out most of my deep u hemline for a blunt hem. And maintain around tbl.

    I would call that a definite 1c!

RebekahE, the front view makes me think it'd lean towards 2a if it were shorter, but it's hard to tell, so probably 1c?

    Jane99
, you can tell better whether you relate more to members who label their hair as 1c or as 1c/2a, the straight/wavy inbetween :) I think it could fit both!

This is a picture of my hair right after I let it air dry. It usually gets even straighter in the days following washing. I was thinking it's 1b, maybe 1c?

Is it untouched, uncombed? If so, I see why you're thinking 1c because of the slight waving at the top, but 1c is often characterised by clumping. It looks so smooth, like 1a, but it's not pin straight. I think 1b probably fits best, but type again in a year or so to see if the slight waving at the top has grown down.

(If it was combed at all then this is all moot and you'd have to do it again but without touching.)
Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...
Picky scalp but easygoing hair, thank goodness

MusicalSpoons: oh, thanks! I'm new and didn't realize I wasn't supposed to comb it to determine type. I'll try again soon!
