I agree with the 2a assessment, Hasse.

Yup, I'd also say 2a. (The screen brightness idea did the trick )
Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...
Picky scalp but easygoing hair, thank goodness

I'm not sure what my hair type is since it looks different Every day. When I use just shampoo or just wash with water its bigger and more textured. Plus I dye with henna and indigo. My profile has it listed as 1b/1c

    Thoughts?
I guess this is the part where I write a signature? I dont have one. 🤷

You have awesome volume, CalystaStarr! 1b/1c feels like a safe bet in your case since you use henna and indigo and those can straighten your hair. I would probably wait some time to gain more length to see how your hair behaves once it's longer. Have you tried to encourage possible waviness?

ETA: it's quite a dark picture, but if you crank up the brightness of your screen, you should be able to see more details.
I think what you have as markers in your profile: 2a/b is spot on!

I think that is spot on! I would "guess" 1b/c as well!

Took some photos of my hair today after taking a bath (with the advice from my oil build-up thread) once it had dried. I did my best not to touch it even though it got in my face a bunch ;w; I certainly had flashbacks to elementary school days.

I had typed my hair about a month ago to 1c, but looking at the photos I took from after my hair got a 'good' wash... I'm not so sure anymore, so I'd love to hear people's thoughts!

I put a variety of angled photos of my hair in an album here, but here's one of the photos:

For length reference, the skirt is in-line with my belly button.

My hair got super frizzy and unmanageable (couldn't put it up with a stick without wrapping a scarf around the bun a bunch of times, or it'd just fall right out) after I did comb it, which doesn't normally happen but at least the pic is kind of funny ^^'

BTW! All of the photos in the Visual Hairtyping Guide Thread are super blurry when I look at them right now, did something happen? They weren't like that a week ago.
