I fully agree with Ylva, 1c/2a.

I feel like the 2a is extra justified by it 'reading' as slightly wavy overall (to me anyway, evidently not everyone has the same opinion), like you wouldn't look at those pictures and go 'oh that's straight hair', it obviously has some texture and really does look like it wants to be wavy.

By the way, if we're all agreed that detangling has to be done before the water is squeezed out and your hair starts air drying, do we need to change the wording of the instructions to make that clear?

"Let your hair air dry with the least amount of detangling you can manage to do. Detangling before washing and while your hair is still wet is totally fine, just avoid doing it (as much as reasonably possible) during the time it is air drying. Finger combing, combing and brushing during that time will change the structure of your hair you are just trying to discover.

I actually thought detangling should be done or before washing or after shampoo, with the the conditioner and before the final rinse.
On my hair detangling wet but without rinsing again does change the result.
    somewhere shorter than classic

I agree with that, just didn't want to be too prescriptive in case people can detangle with sopping wet hair and then still squeeze out lots more afterwards.

But saying 'before the final rinse' would certainly be a very clear, unambiguous instruction.

The frizz doesn't show up very well in the photos, but there's a lot of it, especially the day I wash it or if I'm out in the rain. Does it look like it's 1c?

When I did my pictures, I detangled before washing (so on dry hair), and I think once you even detangle during the wash that might have an effect on the outcome... What do you think? I think detangling prior "it all" is fine; just my 2cts.

If you detangle before the Conditioner is rinsed out it should be ok but afterwards should be untouched that's my opinion anyway

I always detangle exclusively in the shower with conditioner, I don't touch it at all when it's dry before or after washing. I don't think that impacts the results at all, because my hair still dries true to texture. If I didn't detangle in the shower it would be all matted up from shampooing, and that's definitely not good for hair typing
