How do I put pictures (and album pictures) in my posts?

You know, there's a test forum for these kind of problems.

anyway, you're using the wrong URL for your picture. You're using the one that shows in the URL bar on the browser when you open your LHC album picture. That won't work, that one links to the whole page, not to the individual picture you want to show. This is the tricky thing with these albums here, I find Photobucket better for newbies really.

To get the right URL, the one that ends with a picture extension (like .gif or .jpg), that you need for a picture to show up, click with the right mouse button on the picture. Depending on what browser you use, a box with a few different alternatives will show up. Firefox is simple, just click on the "Copy image location" alternative and the image URL will be copied. In Internet Explorer for example, you'll have to go to properties and there copy the address given.

Thanks aisling, but I just tried it, and right-clicking the picture doesn't bring up a URL with a .jpg extension (Image Location or Properties).

Debra, it looks like the best solution is to put those pictures you want to show on the boards, in Photobucket.

Flaxen, I see that now, I was just sure it worked like that because that's how I get album pics to show up properly in my blog

But obviously you can use the picture url anyway without the .jpg extension, you just have to make sure it's the pic url, not the page url.

Using my own pictures, you have to use

the tiny difference bolded. Using the first URL and image tags should make a picture show up:

Okay, I went to my album picture, right clicked on the picture, chose properties, copied the url and pasted it. I keep getting a link instead of a pic! Any ideas?

You'll need to put the [img] [/img] tags around it.
