How do I put pictures (and album pictures) in my posts?

I can't thank you enough - I finally succeed in posting pictures....

. I know it's an advice from 2009- but it works in 2012 also

What you linked to with the tags was not a valid picture URL, but rather a URL to a page which hosts the image, which won't show properly when the IMG tags (

button or [IMG]image url[/IMG]) are used. The tags look for an image extension to the URL such as .jpg or .gif.

Depending on your browser, you can alt-click (right clicking for most users) on the image and copy its image URL, Copy Image Location for Firefox for instance, and use that with the

button.

You're more than welcome to use the Test Board for practicing as much as you'd like until it gets sorted out. I'm otherwise more than happy to help if it's still a bit problematic.

I've encountered a glitch in posting pictures since the upgrade. When I post pictures in my blog (I haven't posted many pictures in the forums and can't remember if I had the same problem there or not) I click the "insert image" icon and the window opens, I paste the image location, and click "ok" and sometimes nothing happens. The cursor that had been active at the end of the pasted text disappears and becomes active in the blog input window behind the pop up. Sometimes inserting an image works just fine, more often it doesn't. If I attempt to add the image on the same line as text it always works, so that is an easy solution to the problem on my end, just start some text, add the image, move the cursor in front of the image and hit return to move it to the next line. But since it seemed like an odd little glitch I thought I'd post about it. I'm using Firefox if that helps figure out the problem.

Is this intermittent or can you consistently reproduce that problem and relay the steps needed to do so? I wrote a blog entry today and had no issues posting photos via various methods, even with editing and changing items a few times. I'm also running Firefox.

I just went to test in my blog. I started an entry and inserted an image and it worked. Hit return after the image and then went to insert the same image again and it didn't work. Instead of the picture appearing and the pop up disappearing the pop up remained and the cursor became active on the blog window behind it. I need to upgrade Firefox but can't with my current OS (new computer for Yule!) so maybe that is the problem. Hadn't thought of that before.

That's very interesting. The only oddity I've encountered was utilizing image posting via the attachment button where the popup (akin to the window used when uploading to our albums) would instead be a popunder and go behind the primary browser window. That wasn't a useful method for adding a picture anyway, so I've since stopped using it.
