Yep they’re bookmarks! And yes they actually shimmer a lot more than the sticks do!
He made so many versions of each color so if you are interested in oneI’m sure there’s one for you and not just you but anyone in this thread

I'm pretty sure this huge thread would address this SOME WHERE, but I sure can't find it!
If I don't have the Novus #2 wax for my beautiful semi DIY hair stick, can I use a dab of coconut(or similar) oil to shine it up?
And this: I was a little uncertain how LONG I should continue with each grit.I am a bit worried that I overdid it, and won't be able to finish the 2nd stick. Can the wet grits be re- wetted for the second?
    Thanks in advance!

Novus #2 wax: I'm not familiar with this one. Common waxes you may have around the house: bees wax for waxing drawers or for sewing. Bees wax based untinted lip balms or cuticle cream will also work. Car wax made from carnauba wax will also work, though I don't know what other additives those might have.

Yes, a dab of oil, any oil, will also shine it up.

Yes, you can re-wet the wet/dry sandpapers as many times as you want. If the instructions did not say to, be sure to thoroughly rinse off the sticks between grits in clean water.

How long to sand with each grit....that takes some practice, so I'd err on too much rather than too little. Can you wear out sandpaper? Yes. However, it looses its efficacy and takes more time with a used grit long before it becomes completely useless.

Thank you! Just the info I was looking for. I'm sure the suggestion to rinse it a bit between grits will be helpful for me; I did not think to do that!

These are awesome! Reserver, are you here? You have great taste. These remind me of my childhood in the best way. If I start wearing my hair up again I need to remember some of those acrylic names for future reference.

I will edit my post later to include before and after.

Want to show my semi-DIY hairsticks which has been a lovely project. In fact, it still is - I have one more pair to work on.

Top to Bottom (all pairs) : Copper Forest, Bronze, Hunter's Green

    EDIT
I am not a very crafty person, and so doubted my abilities to sand these sticks! But I am pleased with the results; the colours are so pretty.

Top to Bottom, the pairs are : Charger, Copper Forest, Bronze, Hunter's Green (maybe it is called Hunter Green).

I used toothpaste to give it a bit of a shine, and an oil that is marketed for skincare. Will oil them periodically.
