Ah, I have found that all of my Dymondwood 60th Street forks have also darkened significantly over time. It's such a bummer. Mine were all acquired secondhand, so I don't have a huge amount invested in them, but it's still disappointing. Their previous owners must not have worn them much. The colors were still vivid when i received them but now they are so dark that the color changes are barely noticeable.

Does anyone know if the other types of layered "woods" hold their colors? If they do, I will invest in some of those.

    Hurray! I've reached waist-land! Last trim 1-2-23.

Finda and Zesty, beautiful forks both of you!

Finda, I adore Macassar Ebony! When I destashed the vast majority of my huge 60th street collection, I kept a couple of dymondwoods - but mostly my natural woods. Gabon Ebony is my absolute favorite now, as my hair is more silvers than brown, and the lighter tones in Macassar can sometimes clash a bit. But it's so beautiful!

I also agree with Sarah that 60th Street have been my favorite forks since I first found them. The lightness, the spacing, and how easily they just glide into your hair are all what makes me love them, even when I don't wear hair toys as much anymore nowadays. But when I do, 9 times out of 10, it's a 60th Street.

everyone talking about natural wood forks I agree they are SO pretty.
I like dymondwood too but natural woods especially those that show a pattern are amazing!
I have a lacewood? (I think, can't remember 100% if that was what it was called) and I think I will dig it out and wear it more
Much love to all my fellow long hair peoples!

By the way, I do wear my natural wood fork while showering.
Does it anyone too? If yes have you noticed changes in your fork?

I probably wouldn't do it since they're so expensive. I don't even leave them out in the bathroom when I shower. I mean, the occasional rain shower hasn't done any harm yet. When it looks like rain I wear something acrylic, though. I accidentally left a wooden stick in my bun during a shower and the steam led to the fibers sticking up.

Yes indeed they are expensive, I maybe better not wearing them while taking a shower and risking something.
If the damage would have taken place it is too late.
