Oh, do I!! And you bet it helps! I've been using a 100% natural (no nylon) BBB since 1960.

I follow the George Michael principle of 100 strokes per day, right after getting up in the morning (the best time to brush).

My hair is soft and shiny and I couldn't think of not using a brush.

I did try it once upon a time, but honestly it seemed to damage my fine-ish hair more than help it.

I use my boar bristle brush at two times.
    • Before I wash. I detangle well, scritch all over with a fine toothed horn comb (because it feels so good), then I brush thoroughly with the BBB. This helps get out the shed hairs and distribute oils. It DOES make my hair fluffy too.
    • After applying Nanny's Airing Powder to my scalp and letting it soak up the oil I use a BBB with a cheesecloth over it to brush out the powder and polish my hair. Makes my hair shiny.

If you had asked this a week ago id have said my hair doesn't like them, however I have been using a BBB for 4 days, 50 strokes 2 x a day building up to 100 and I have to say my hair loves it, my hair feels so much silkier, sure I lose some wave but my hairs in a bun all the time so no big deal!

Funny my hair has done a full circle, what it hated when it was short, it loves now!

I use a boar bristle brush with nylon bristles mixed into it. It definitely helps to smooth down my wavy, but frizzy hair and make it soft and managable. Many other brushes just detangle, but don't really help with the frizz.

I have a BBB but I usually use my plastic paddle brush for brushing my hair. The BBB doesn't penetrate down to my scalp well. I never brush my hair wet. It leads to damage. When wet I use my wide tooth comb to detangle. When I oil my hair I use the BBB, just to distribute out the oil but comb through it too.

Nope, doesn't work out well for me. I have very thick, somewhat wavy hair.

The BBB seems to compress my hair so that the brush only penetrates maybe 1/2 centimeter of thickness at a time. Then my hair sticks together and doesn't allow the brush to penetrate to the deeper layers. So I have to brush it in sections.

It makes my ends feel dry and frizzy, and just overall does me no good.

Instead of spreading sebum down to the ends, I prefer to coconut oil my ends. Easy, smells nice, and works great!

Wide tooth wooden comb is all I use.

I tried it a few times and like Fingolphin, it just seems to damage it.

Thanks for the replies! I answered that I love my BB brush. It feels so good and makes my hair very smooth and shiny. I especially use it before a wash =). Ever since I bought one my hair has been much happier.
