I noticed my first silvers at age 28. My only regret was making the decision to cover them, I embrace every single one of them now!
I was 23 when I noticed about 3 gray strands. 3 years later I don't have more than those.
Mum, when I grow up I'll be a photographer!

I noticed my first in my early 40's and started covering them by my late 40's. My dad was almost completely gray when he passed away at 77 but my mom is still not totally gray at 90.
I'll be thirty this summer and haven't seen any yet, though I am very blond and they may just be hiding out till they've attained critical mass. A friend of mine is 26 with quite a few of them! I like hers.
I haven't got any yet, not that I've noticed. My mother is 50, and her natural hair colour is mostly grey now, but still with a fair bit of brown. She dyes her hair quite often though, so I'm not sure when she got the first greys. Not that I would have noticed in any case, probably. My mother's younger sister (47) had completely white hair by her mid-twenties. My father (51) also has some brown hairs left, but not that many any more.
I don't know yet for myself, but my granny didn't get grey hair until past her fifties, and when she did they weren't noticable in her blond hair for quite a long time.
...procrastinating the new signature...
I've always had a couple, same as my oldest brother. I'm 21 and I've been getting a few each year since I was around 15.
One of my Uncles went totally white-silver when he was 16, although he had a lot of major health problems so maybe that has something to do with it.

I started getting a few strands when I was 25, which gradually increased until I developed a bit of a streak that stayed the same for a long time. (Somehow my mom never noticed this for years, until one day when I was in my mid-30s she looked at me and suddenly said in a shocked tone, "You have gray hair!" )
I think people really vary a lot in when they start to get silvers. An old boyfriend of mine was in his early 40s while we were together, and his hair was still completely glossy black with no gray. His brother, who was two years younger, apparently started getting gray strands when he was 16, and by the time I knew him his hair was half-and-half gray and black.
Found my first at 12, always had 2 or 3 in my teenage years. It's only been since my mid-20s that they've started multiplying, though. There will probably be enough to form a streak in about 10 years.
I blame grad school!
Edit: 2017 update, because this poll popped up. They're more numerous now at 35, but they don't seem to be assembling for a streak. Just scattered sparklies on the top of my head and at the temples. (Maybe elsewhere, where they're harder to spot?)

Long hair hiatus: short hair for now, buzzcut!
I found my first silver in my late teens, but at 23 I still I don't have any noticeable ones really. A streak would be awesome.![]()
