I just have it down, hair behind my ears and bangs pinned aside. Sometimes I braid my hair with small braids, but not very often.

I bought a satin sheet set which includes pillowcases. I can barely create a rat's tail. I doubt it is long enough to accumulate damage anyway.

When my hair is loose, I twist it into about 8 french twists and sleep with a satin bonnet. Then It doesn't matter how short or long your hair is.

When my hair was shorter I would use my satin pillow case so it would allow my hair to slide when I moved. I also used a satin sleep cap that I just tucked my hair up into. That helped my hair from getting all tangled.

I used to sleep with my hair in a ponytail pre-APL, otherwise I'd wake up with a mouthful of it.

Up in a top knot on top of my head. It seems to be working well for me.

I'd use a satin sleep cap or a silk pillowcase.

Hurray! I've reached tailbone length! Last trim 1-2-23.
