    Default Crunchy / Silky

What makes your hair crunchy ?
What makes your hair silky ?

I like to read stuff about hair, but not the other way around.

Damp-bunning with hard-hold gel makes my hair silky...basically just heat-free straightening and loosening my wave pattern so i don't run into resistance or tangles if I run my hands through it.
My random curly hairs make my hair feel very textured if I dry it loose...maybe not crunchy though...Baking soda and too much protein have made my hair feel crunchy in the past.

For my hair, ACV rinses makes it crunchy. When I only CO wash, it makes my hair crunchy. When I oil with EVOO before I CO wash, my hair is silky. When I use Redken's Chemistry Shots, my hair is silky.

WO has made my virgin hair silky, dyed parts are still meh. Conditioners with protein made all my hair silky but using them more than a few times turned it the other way around. Honey and coconut oil also made my hair silky.

Egg washes turned my hair crunchy but I'm fairly sure I did it wrong and fried it in my hair. Molasses somehow managed to make it both crunchy and silky at the same time as do some shampoos. Garnier Triple Nutrition (I think that was what it was called) shampoo and conditioner made my hair crunchy and flyaway. Baking soda and ACV (both together and separately) were no good either.
Too lazy to make a new siggy.

Coconut oil and too much protein makes my hair crunchy. Olive oil and lots of conditioner make it silky.

^Funny, Olive oil makes my hair super crunchy, but almond oil makes it silky

Protein feels like melting my hair!!

Thick (heavy) conditioner = silky. Lots of combing = silky. Lightweight conditioner = crunchy. Too much product = crunchy.
