    Default Washing with cold water

For those who wash with cold water only, has it made a difference to the overall health for your hair?

I rinse in very cool water and my hair is quite shiny. However, I have made other changes since coming here to LHC too. That was almost 3 years ago. I have changed products, quit using a blowdrier, started taking vitamins, started oiling my hair. So although I do use cool water, it would be incorrect to say that that alone has made my hair so healthy and shiny (and it must be because I get lots of compliments ).

I wash with warm water, not hot water and rinse out the conditioner with the coldest water I can stand. I have found the conditioner works better when the water isn’t to hot. When I co wash, I still do the first lot of conditioner with warm water and the second lot with cold. I find using warm water to wash with cleanse better.

It dosen't make a difference to the health at all but it does help reduce frizz quite a bit so I always wash with cold.

BellCat I wash with warm, not hot and then I rinse with very cool, not cold. I leave a wee bit of conditioner in my hair, i don't rinse it all out.

I also comb my hair in the shower while it has conditioner in it, with a large tooth comb. I am careful doing so.

I wash with cold and It makes a difference in the shine. One day after washing this effect is gone on my hair though.

Oh and switching tempreratures can have a positive effect on ones bloodcirculation, wich can stimulate hairgrowth.
