Default a way to straighten curls

So I am a 3b curly blonde who is a sucker for dark straight hair and I kept trying to find a way to straighten my hair without much damage and with some durable result with no luck. Then I just stopped trying, desperate. And today I was looking through some old pictures of mine and look what I found:

Holy mother of god... And then I remembered - I kept my hair in a ponytail all the time, I brushed it couple times a day and my grandmother kept saying that I am killing my curls. And I hated the frizz I got around my hairline when my hair was in ponytail. But, boy, THIS IS STRAIGHT HAIR IN THOSE PICTURES!!! And I did NOT style it in any other way than simple brushing. How bizarre. But maybe this helps anybody cause we, curly heads, are told not to brush but hey, look what brushing brings around here! ATTENTION, WARNING: My hair is fine so I'm not sure this could work on thicker hair. Actually, I'm pretty sure this won't, this should be useful for fine haired ladies though.
    My hair these days:

    Hi,

I have 2A hair but I also crave the straight and sleek look I bought the kerastase oleo relax slim crème yesterday, it is supposedly great - you can leave the hair to dry naturally or blow-dry it. I will try it tonight and report back tomorrow

When I look at this I have high hope: http://www.shopcrazy.com.ph/2009/06/kerastase/

Glad you found something that works. Depending on what I wash my hair with I find it goes close to straight.

I am a curly that also occasionally longs for straight hair, and brushing works... to a degree.

I can take my detangled, dry hair, brush it veeeeeeeery carefully and oil it quite a bit (if I don't, I just become a frizz-ball), and have um, 1c hair. If I tie it back or braid it loosely, it behaves and feels like straightish hair, but I don't think that I could wear it loose like that without it quickly going 'POOF!' and growing to five times its size.

When I was a child and I brushed and then tied my hair back without doing anything else to it (because my family did not know how to care for curls), I'd look like your pics there for about five minutes after I took my hair out of the ponytail (usually the time required to take a photo)... and then the clock rang midnight and the huge ball of frizz was back again.

So, try the method, as long as you don't mind taking the risk of destroying your curl pattern until next wash-day and being afflicted by frizz.

Well, Dfotw, I can always updo my hair if this doesn't work. I just didn't brush my hair for so long I thought that would cause an apocalypse - no less. And then I found these pictures. They were taken after a day in a ponytail and then brushed, and it didn't get frizzy after this.

HAHAAHAHHAHAAHA, that's a TERRIBLE perspective, you know. I would just DIE on the spot if my curl pattern goes away. (Sorry, just couldn't help doing this)

The brushing technique works for me too. My hair just has to be long enough.
