Photoshop to your goal length, cont.

I found this challenge intriguing, and decided to give it a go out of curiosity.

This gave me kinda mixed feelings. I really like the look in the photoshopped image; it motivates me that yes, this is where I would like to go. On the other hand, it makes me a bit sad because I don't know if I'll ever be able to get there. The left one is my actual length, and it hasn't budged from there in years, because my hair is so thin and prone to breakage. Well, even with ideal growth and retainment, this would probably take me around two years. And that's what I told myself two years ago :'D

But I'm staying hopeful! I've improved my haircare with small tweaks all the time.

sarana, your ends are still so thick at your current length that there is no way that is your terminal length. Grow on with confidence.

My ends look way thicker in this pic than they are in real life, the last 15cm/6in are broken velcro. But nevertheless, I'll continue to grow on x)

Well, guess what y'all? Here we are two years after that sob post I made in Jan '23

Back then I had been having a bad plateau for YEARS. I had already been taking care of my hair and been a member of the LHC for three years and a stalker for longer. I'm not sure what changed? I guess I just further refined my haircare, and stopped trimming whatsoever.

My actual real hair is now at the length of that aspirational photoshopped picture. I think I can count this as a win?

But of course along the way I caught the LHCitis, and I'm not stopping here. I don't think I'm going to do any trims any time soon, maybe after classic or FTL, if I get there. Here's to the next two years of growing!

Also love it because I’m at your 2023 length now and my goal is your current length so it’s very cool to see

(even if the thought of two more whole years seems daunting at the moment.. but they’ll pass anyway won’t they)

cookies thank you, it feels wild to be at someone else's goal length. And my own! I've broken 2 of my records and goalposts already, there is progress!

It must feel reassuring to see someone get from your current place to your aspirational place, within a set timeframe. 2 years feels daunting, but the time will pass eventually. (That's what I tell myself; I just started a new 5-year degree as an adult *facepalm*) And you get to enjoy the new lengths on the way too. I'm growing out some henna and I've still got 5 years left. Maybe I'll get to graduate uni and henna at the same time

If memory serves, Neko stalled for 10 years but then started growing again
