Your hair is beautiful Wyldfae’s Mane!
I always think of TBL as the halfway point between BCL and classic. Nobody is ever going to know where it “technically” is on anyone else anyway lol, so it feels like a decent compromise
I agree tbl bcl seem to be very similar if I ever even get close to those lengths I'd call tbl between each one

Ok I’m officially at hip length now with 83 cm of hair. I’ve cut around 2 cm, so I think I’m done trimming until next year April. In my opinion, my ends feel kind of thin because of the previous layers, but people around me say it doesn’t look ratty / scraggly so I’m happy to continue onwards with me growth.

I just had a big trim. I chopped my hip + length hair, that was actually only maybe 3" from BCL, back to waist / elbow length. The length was bugging me, honestly. I did get rid of all the last thinner and straighter ends (from my huge shed in 2020). My hair is now thick all the way to the ends, and very slightly U-shaped.
But.. I keep thinking about chopping my hair to above shoulders again! I know now that it takes me about three years to get back to past waist should I do that. So I know it's not THAT big of a deal if I cut and ended up wanting to grow back out again. It just seems to me that I always end up cutting , but I have happily lived with shorter hair for years until growing out again. This time I made it longer than ever before until starting to get the urge to chop.
I miss the freedom of super easy to care for hair (not that I'm doing much to my hair now, but just washing and air drying seems like a hassle.. and I wash once a week at most, often going 10-14 days between washes..) And I keep thinking how fresh and cool a neck length cut would look :P And it wouldn't get caught anywhere and I wouldn't get tangled in it in my sleep.
I am going through some distressing stuff in my life and often feel depressed, so I'm trying not to cut my hair in reaction to that only.
I don't regret the recent cut at all, it did make my hair a little bit more manageable, and I'm not stressed about damaging the thinner ends if they do get caught somewhere.. And my briar is still really long by "normal" standards.
I want my hair not only look carefree, but really be carefree.

I definitely recommend not doing something to drastic when you are feeling down if you still feel like cutting back once you feel better then sure go for it, it grows back anyway
