I got my hair straightened today (not a fun experience, but had to for an event...) and I think I'm pretty close to waist? I pulled my tshirt in a little but it's still hard to tell exactly where the waist is. I won't actually call waist length until my hair is there in its wavy state too though
Next year I'm putting my foot down and not getting it straightened anymore. It always feels like they're cooking my hair... but at least it's nice to see it looking longer than usual for a while!
Yup! That's definitely waist.The part on your torso where your body dents in (more pronounced if you have an hourglass or curvy figure) is waist for most ladies. It can be a bit harder to find on guys, but it's roughly the spot where your ribcage ends a few inches or so above your hipbones. Like Bat said, highwaisted pants are a good way to make the final determination.
Your hair looks great! Sorry it wasn't a fun experience. I've learned to straighten mine myself, that way I'm in control of all the variables.
Yes, MaggiNoodles, your hair is definitely waist! I hope you enjoyed the event you went to!![]()
Thanks everyone!Yeah, from reading other replies on this thread I was thinking I probably am at waist. When I said so to my mum, she burst into laughter and said I'm not even close -- she's definitely got that waist-hip confusion!
In any case I'm still considering my hair midback length until it's comfortably at waist when wavy. Knowing that it's "secretly waist length already" is pretty motivational!
Congratulations , MaggiNoodles;
There's no way thay I would put flat iron on my precious strandsbut measuring wet and stretched, combed hair has similar effect. I will also call this milestone two times, and reaching waist on dry waves will surely take some time! But wet - I'm probably already there or at least very close. I'll check it tomorrow, out of curiosity

MaggiNoodles, your ends look so good!
Thank you! I think genetics have blessed me with resilient ends, I haven't had a trim in ages. And I think from now on I won't put flat iron anywhere near my precious strands either, this was the final time. No more! :P
its never a bad thing to try something new, you can find out what works and doesn't work for you, for me I'm trying to wait until I get to close to apl I can do a hair typing photo, before I'll get myself a Keratin again, my hair is coarse and it only really feels soft after I wash it, or when I get a Keratin , curls and waves don't suit me
