I wash my hair with cool or room temperature water so I always wash with the tub faucet before showering my body. Before I dyed my hair I would do everything with the shower head but now I’m coming to realize that while I love a hot hot steamy shower, I don’t like when my head gets too hot.

Ah I remember those days. People say there are health benefits to cold showers. I used to do it so my dye would stick longer
I use a big bucket for my shower and hair washing, and I quite enjoy it. I can recycle the water elsewhere and don’t feel guilty about wasting too much water.

I used to work in a mountain chalet without running water and I fondly remember how I used to wash my hair there. Obviously, hair was washed only when absolutely necessary (read: dripping with oil), because it was quite a process. Fetch the water from the frozen mountain lake. Start a fire. Boil the water. Transfer the water into a bucket. Prepare another bucket with cold water for achieving the right temperature. Splash the hair wet, shampoo, lather. Rinse with warm water, using a metal cup to gather water from the bucket. And try to use a minimum amount of water - there was a line of co-workers waiting who wanted to wash as well. Conditioner was out of the question. Ah, those were the times So much more fun than just turning on the faucet.
Shower. Tub would actually be way faster, but I'm dumb, I can't apply conditioner properly that way
When I first joined I was a very frugal sort shaving pennies off my utility bills by washing my hair in a bucket. But washing upside down didn't work out well for me at all. A shower is MUCH easier, less mess, and definitely worth the $0.02 extra it might cost.

In the shower! Unless I only wash my bangs, then I use the sink 😊
