Until recently I would have said I prefer the sink, as that's where I would do all my scalp-only washes, but now that I've found a way to do the same in the shower, I'll have to switch my answer. It's just more convenient being able to wash my body at the same time, though I like to have both options.

In the laundry sink because my hair stains everything else
Currently the only tub in my house is in my roommate's bathroom, which is absolutely disgusting otherwise I'd do mermaid soaks all the time. So it's off to the shower for me.
Hovering at hip this year! Hip hip hooray!
Shower, always.
As a child/teen I used to love the feeling of mermaid soaks and my hair flowing through the water, BUT to feel clean I had to have showered first (because a bath to get clean becomes people soup, with the soap for seasoning) and even if my body were clean, washing my hair whilst having a bath would require rinsing with clean water anyway. So that one specific enjoyable feeling is far outweighed by the impracticality of trying to wash in a bath. And now at ankle I think it might just get tangled round me like seaweed anyway![]()
I have washed upside-down over the tub, with and without a shower head, but that = tangles. Over the tub and in the sink are only feasible for scalp washes, really.
Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...
Picky scalp but easygoing hair, thank goodness
Well my hair is roughly MTL and I can assure you the last time I let it float around me in the tub it tried to strangle me and tie up my arms at the same time. Perhaps ankle would become a bath leviathan of epic proportions.
I also only wash in the shower. I have a terrible habit of banging my head on the sink faucet.

I wash it in the shower because it never seems to get rinsed as well if I have to use a plain faucet or a cup/other container.
I like taking afternoon showers.
Shower twice a week.
Bath rarely.
I used to wash my hair bending over the bath. Then my back starting playing up so I washed my hair in the shower. Then the shower leaked so I tried washing my hair in the kitchen sink. Again, I developed a sore back from bending over the sink.
Now I sit in the bath and wash my hair. Much easier on my spine.
