    I did it!
A single braid wrapped ALLLLLL the way around and tucked. Finally long enough!

This was a huge goal for me when I first stopped cutting my hair and I'm so happy.

How do you secure it, Amaryllis? I tried that with two Dutch braids using bobby pins and they just... did nothing.

Bobby pins. I have one Amish pin in the thicker part because it happened to be on the shelf and the rest are regular bobby pins.

I have really slippery hair so I think it's all in the way I use the pins. I hold the pin (completely closed) at almost a right angle to my head, push down, and slide it in, parallel to the braid, not perpendicular. And I do it so the open end of the pin ends up at the top and the closed end at the bottom-- I feel like it works against gravity that way.

Pretty braid and I like your necklace.

Also Tatsu that is an intricate, lovely braid.
