    Your hair is absolutely gorgeous!

Is is hard to learn to tape it? I love the way hair looks with ribbons in it but am kind of intimidated by the idea of trying it myself

Did you use a specific tutorial or method?

I'm just starting to get into crown braid territory, or whatever it's called when you pin two dutch braids in back. Here's my best version.

Looks great! What is your goal length?

    Not sure!
The plan's been to grow it out for my friend's wedding where I'm a bridesmaid.
    It's scheduled for May 2021.

I think that'll get me past APL and a little before BSL, depending on how fast my hair grows and all that, I'm still not sure of my growth rate. From there I'll have to see how I'm feeling, but I don't think I'd do more than waist, at the most.

I've never had it much past APL, largely because I've never known how to do anything with it, but learning braids has made growing my hair out a lot more fun!

I just grabbed some ribbon from Joanne's, I got one that felt silky, figured it would slide through the hair easier that way. It does distribute the weight of hair really well, and is super comfortable. I slept in it and wore it a second day, it held up really well. I did wear a satin cap over it while sleeping to keep it from getting too fuzzy.

    Thank you!

I don't think it's too hard to tape it. It's a little more time consuming than using pins, but not a lot more, and it's comfier and prettier than pins. The trick is to use a yarn needle, or something like it, to sew essentially sew the braids to the scalp hair with the ribbon. Oh and I used claw clips to hold the braids in place while placing the ribbon. Hope that helps.

That does help! I think I'm going to have to try it once we get out of quarantine!

Desi what a nice, fluffy, giant scrunchie

I'm figuring out ways to use my first slide. This is two small lace braids held by the slide, merged into a dutch braid. Now I'm just getting OCD about making sure the slide is even, which I can't do well on the back of my head haha.

Probably the neatest installment of box braids I’ve ever done. Literally EVER done.
