Today's braid... thrown up in the bathroom at the office because it's unwashed, unruly, and just plain looked bad.

So impressive!! I wished my "thrown up" braids looked as thick!!

It was my amateur attempt at this glorious creation by Twisted Sisters:

I've never seen anything so beautiful, in all my years searching for beautiful braided styles.

ETA: Your crown braid was b e a u t i f u l!! So even and perfect! You'd think you'd been lace crown braiding for years! Congrats! That style really suits you!

    Pretty style, Madora.

Yeah, that link is absolutely beautiful, but I don't think I have the thickness to pull it off. *cries*
You cannot prevent the birds of sadness from passing over your head, but you can prevent their making a nest in your hair.

That is a beautiful style!!! Now all I need to do is practice rope crown braiding and I will attempt that one day!

Thank you again! Just keep in mind that I didn't show the bad side. It does give me hope that I can master this style one day though. Just will take some more practice. I'm keeping it in for today though because it doesn't look that bad & I'm not going anywhere.

Thanks, DarkCurls. Yes, the model has such thick hair. I wonder how long it was..and how long it took to create. I tried writing them about it but never received a reply.

thanks! Ya know when I try really hard, my braids looks like total junk. but when I just do it, without paying too much attention in order to just get it up quickly, it always looks better. murphy's law of braiding?

Lostsoule77, nice crown braid! I haven't figured out the "right" spot to start mine yet. I can manage them, but it takes quite a bit of effort.

Wow, that looks amazing! I always like to loosen my braids up a bit too! Your hair looks gorgeous!

I think this is my favorite thread.

Last Sunday I tried something different with the 2yo. She usually has her hair put up in bows that match her outfit. I haven't been doing braids on her much since I like her curls to be loose and it's hard to get her to sit still long enough. I had extra time and she was distracted so on a whim played around with some lace side braids that I pinned together in the back. I'm not sure what the style would be called as they don't come all the way around like a crown braid half-up but it looks like it in the back.
