I think it looks awesome. Embrace the messy look. But I'm sure practice will make it neater if that's what you prefer. I still love it!

Thanks, Copper and Suze! It really was pretty messy, especially on the side where I had to switch to upside down. Need to work on my upside down braiding skills. Haha!

    It looks super AmaryllisRed!

And as someone who spent a solid week practicing crown braids I can tell you it does get easier.

    Thank you, prairie and ravenskey.
I think I'm going to really focus on it for the next week or two.

Another day, another crown braid. Trying out a different technique.
I think I really need to keep it Dutch all the way around. Today I added all the hair in and switched to English too early. It feels loose and droopy on that side, even with pins.

    Looking good AmaryllisRed!

What I do when I do a crown braid is split my hair horizontally, let the top bit fall over my face and start braiding at the back.
I find that means I have enough hair to Dutch braid all the way around my head rather than running out.

Your hair looks in such beautiful condition

I found Missy Sue on youtube the other day. I've failed at crown braiding a million times but, I think tomorrow I'm going to try her way

    Thank you both!
I will try parting horizontally tomorrow.
I feel like there are several methods out there and I've just got to find one that works best for me and then keep practicing.
I actually followed Missy Sue's tutorial today!
There's another one I've seen that I want to try. I cannot remember her name but she's got red hair and she also does a video where she wears her hair in a bun and goes on roller coasters. If that rings a bell with anyone. :haha:
