My hair is shoulder length, and on wash day I usually leave my hair down. The next day I might leave it down, too, depending on what I am doing. For the day(s) that follow it is always up.

I've only worn it down maybe twice in the past two or so years? Give or take a little bit actually. The only other times it's either while it's drying after a wash or when being taken down, combed out, and put back up. That's where the length shots come from. It just makes my hair easier to deal with when I want to do something to it. If I wear it down for a while then I have a lot to deal with to get it compliant once more. It cuts down on tangling and I guess helps cut down on potential damage since it's not everywhere.
Exclamation mark fortified and darn proud!

I will leave my hair down, or half down for a few hours after washing, but that's it. Once in a great while I will leave it down if going out with DH, but I ususally just bun or braid it.
My hair is almost APL and I keep it up most of the time. I don't like having hair on my face, and even when my hair was really short, I clipped the front back at home. I also have trichotillomania and having the hair up prevents me from getting triggers. I also have always loved updos and braids, how they look, and am glad I am able to do them on myself
Always behave like a duck -
keep calm and unruffled on the surface but paddle like the devil underneath.
I'm a little past hip and I wear my hair up during the day at least 6 days a week. Most Saturdays I wear it down when I go out. But then as soon as I get home it goes up again. I almost always wear it down to sleep.
I've worn my hair up since I got past BSL.
My hair is BSL-classic and i rarely wear it loose. My DH loves it so at night after work and dinner i let it out just for him and i like the way it feels on my back..but if i have it loose, even in a pony, i get a terrible dreadlock right at the base of my skull in the center above my neck...i mean terrible. and i have trouble doing things with it down, it tickles and gets caught so its better for me to have it up most of the time. I cover any time i am in public too so up is more conducive to that for me, if i have to run out to the store or something i can throw a scarf on and its already up.

Mine has more to do with lifestyle, I think. I have kids. I work with kids. My hair gets tangled in little sticky hands. When it was just to the tops of my shoulders, I wore it down almost all the time.
If I'm outside I always put it up so it doesn't get tangled by the wind, caught in stuff etc. That really annoys me - I used to be able to make do with a ponytail, but these days I really want a bun. I wear it down indoors pretty often though

Cassia swamp monster!
My hair is only around APL so I usually wear it down, either lose or braided. I'm not fond of pony tails as I've worn that style most of my life (having no talent at braiding until recently).
