circumference of your pony tail??

My aunt is 6 inches too. My other aunt: same thing. It's odd. My gran had 10 kids, 8 survived into adulthood. 1 boy has a thick head of hair, 3 others, balding & bald. 2 sisters have super thick hair, 2 others (including my mom) very thin. It's so weird how that works.

The 2 aunts with thick hair, 1 has a daughter with medium thickness, and the other has 2 daughters, 1 thin, 1 thick.

And then I have thick hair too, just not as thick, just 4.25", so that's barely iii. I measure real tight though, right before a wash, when all texture is out my hair.

It’s a similar situation in my family! My grandmother had 9 children and all the boys have underwhelming hair but all the girls have thick hair

Measured at 4.3 today. I thought I'd lost thickness but it's not the case!

Mine is about 3.9" (9.9cm) measured tightly. It varies a bit but it's getting more consistent now that my bangs have grown out.

Oh wow. My hair is way thicker than the last time I measured like 10 years ago. It's 3.75" around (compacted down) and that's even with me having trich and pulling out hairs here and there. If I wasn't pulling, I very well made might be in the iii classifier, not the ii.

My ponytail is 3 inches. I have some grown out layers from a previous haircut and some front pieces that don't fit in my ponytail so I am hoping that once it grows out it adds maybe a centimeter (little less than half an inch). So who knows!! Pretty exciting, because I used to think my hair was very thin... but I am just average

I also asked two of my 1a/1b friends with waist length hair, blonde and dark blonde. Blonde friend has thick bangs and still 9 cm (almost 10 inches) measuring hair ponytail..... I always knew her hair was thick but this does put it into perspective very well for me. My darker blonde haired friend measured 8 cm (3 inches and 1/5 of an inch), she also has a few face framing layers... Really interesting stuff... I will probably also ask my sister about her circumference, she too has blonde hair. (I myself have brown hair).

Moisture definitely has a huge impact on PT circumference. The diameter of a wet strand is about 15% greater than that of dry (lengthwise the difference is only about 2%). You can do the math

...and yes I am so happy about that! I'd thought my hair was so thin for my whole life. I'm so happy to find out I'm average Oh, I just read the posts above and I should've measure it while wet (or at least damp). I live in a desert so I'm sure my hair is dry compared to when I used to live five minutes from an ocean!
