Last week I did cassia for the first time, I used a mix which sadly doesn´t have the percentages but these are the ingredients: Isatis tinctoria leaf powder, indigofera argentea leaf powder, cassia angustifolia leaf powder, camellia sinensis leaf powder, junglans regia leaf powder.
I bought a 150g jar that's... not enough for classic, as you may know.
Anyway, I made a fairly thick mud with 4/5 maybe more of the mix and I made a very watery mud with the remaining mix. I basically used the watery mix for the hair behind my ears and under the crown and after it was all covered I unmade the buns and bunned it all on the top of my head. Touching up again the buns is not really nice (they are cranky) but it was quicker wrapping it up.
First time doing a marmaid soak and this will be the method I will use from now on.
PROS: I like how it turned out, the ends are not so red anymore and my hair seems thicker. Also the smell is not as strong as henna so I didn´t add chamomile.
CONS: my nails are still black, I think it's taking longer than henna to fade.
Yikes, the first two ingredients are dyer's woad and indigo, so I'm not surprised your fingernails ended up black.

The mix I like to use consists of:
80 grams cassia
40 grams ziziphus spina christi
20 grams kapoor kachli
20 grams marshmallow root
It really helps to make my hair fuller and wavier. The kapoor kachli smells almost a bit parfumey/woodsy/hippie like which makes the whole process a lot more doable.
I know that henna looses it's dying ability after it sits out for awhile. Is this due to the lawsone degrading? Also, is the same thing true of cassia?
Hello I cassia-ed my hair a few years ago and as I was still highlighting it I got quite pretty reddish orangish highlights. But I noticed that my virgin hair did not change color. So now I have 100% virgin hair and I would like to try cassia again. I can't remember what it did to my hair, but I think it was stronger. Anyone has done cassia for years and notice a big difference ?
Has anyone tried cassia auriculata? Does it give any dyeing results?
