From Physics Chick:
I have to say that I agree it is rude.Keep in mind that the tag system is meant as a tool for organizing useful information. Using the tags to add snide commentary about the content of a thread is rude and will lead to tag removal. I mention this because it has happened, unfortunately.
ah, missed the thread, but nice to know it has been addressed. this is getting too large, too many important issues are getting overlooked, me thinks...
ETA: oh, I'm sorry - I thought you meant a thread on "tags" - gah, I'm so confused. I should bow out gracefully, now

Not to "derail" this part of the discussion (heehee), but sounds like there might be some secret stuff going on.
I think a lot of people are still getting used to the blog thing and haven't quite found the balance between blogs (journal entries with minimal discussion) and forum posts (public discussions with minimal journaly stuff). It's hard to decide what to put where. The photo journals on the old boards were kinda in the middle, but we do things a bit differently now, and people are still getting used to it.
I don't think the Review section is being used to its fullest potential yet, either. It would be awesome to have bunches of those "look at my new thing" posts at your fingertips when you're trying to decide which thing to purchase.
