Somebody give me a magic wand I can wave and make everybody content with his or her own hair! If that same magic wand could also end all hair discriminatory attitudes on the part of society in general... A magic wand would be so grand...

Oh no, nothing like that . I was perceptive of the smell... i'm sure i was not wafting of onions . Someone else could only notice if they put their nose in my hair...so no social issues.

That's good. But I do want to admit to putting some smelly things in my hair. Peppermint EO for one. (I was surprised to learn that some people can't stand the smell, although I adore it!) Other odiferous critters that have been on my head: neem oil, raw eggs ... And I continue to use them, because for me, they do work! https://forums.longhaircommunity.com...=150332&page=4 ... And I really didn't mind combing the little green flakes out after washing my hair with cilantro. I thought it was kind of fun, actually.

But if it doesn't work for you personally, well there are lots of other hair growth methods out there, and I'm the eternal optimist. If one thing doesn't work, something else surely will. That's just my opinion.

So, I don't think anybody here's going to try to make you feel weird for experimenting. You're in good company! :

I used some home remedy for hair fall I've been experiencing and I have to tell you,it's not onion it's garlic. I used it everyday for a month. The results were lacking I don't know why but the smell of garlic stayed in my hair for 2 years. Whenever my hair was wet it smelled of garlic. I didn't try it ever again, but I think onion smells way less than garlic.

I have and it works. It's a well known remedy in the Indus community. It dramatically cuts down on shedding. I always mixed mine with ginger. Two reasons:

    1. Ginger also helps with scalp stiumlation and hair fall (wouldn't recommend if you are sensitive it does have a warming effect which may irritate some)

    2. Cuts the onion scent down dramatically. It does still smell onion-y but not nearly as much.

Does it linger? It can, especially if you don't shampoo cleanse. But if you are going through a serious hair loss, this is a serious help.
