Thank you, Quixii, and I totally agree! That particular one is just a cutting from a florist, and has been going strong since the beginning of the month! I'm sooooo hooked. I've even nicknamed that TT the blue orchid stick!

I must be a true addict , because honestly I love all of my sticks except two of them that seem to be more beautiful in a cup than in my hair this TOL a I got from BrightEyes ( thank you!) and I remember each and every one from who it came

Crystawni, I hope that you settled in a nice and happy home, and that you pass the Australian winter fast !

Pictures can be deceiving sometimes, but as I look brought the daily pictures since January, when I started the WEO, I can see that my bun has gained some dimension, yay!

Your Orchid is stunning indeed, so stunning that I thought it were artificially injected with these colours ( they have this practice here, in flower shops)
And your collection BREATHAKING, I assume that you may have posted photos of your sticks in your hair, but I would sure love to see some action shots, especially that gorgeous abalone, and the two golden paua twins in the spots 4 and 5(?)
We've got our own rental house (first since November), but the owners are keeping us on our toes while they renovate the space below into a gym.. (with hubby helping with the carpentry on his off days)! We'll only be in here for no more than 6 months, then onto something more substantial which gives us a chance to explore/learn the local area. And pfft--winter!!!! It's 30C every day here at the moment, with a minimum of 24C. The cats and dog are moulting all over again! If this is autumn (it's been snowing in the southern states already), I'm kinda dreading summer! Oh, and yes, I've heard of the colour injections, but am not sure if these are derived that way. I have more research to do! And I'll see what I can muster up for some fresh action shots. My older ones don't show the detail as much as my current way of taking pics.

Thank you! And I can't wait to see your new purdy (which I think is the perfect colouring for a skully one)!

Crystawni, I am in awe of your entire collection, especially your new stick. That has got to be the most beautiful stick I've seen yet. And your orchids are amazing. I also didn't know they ever came in those colors. To have something that beautiful growing in your yard is truly a blessing.

Adiro, I love your TOL stick and it looks so beautiful with your hair.
Thank you, and as we say down here when something goes right or is good--you little ripper! Yay for snagging such a pretty TOL!

I owe this thread some action shots, took a bunch of them this morning for different new toys. The TT were towards the end and my bun and hair just started destructing towards the end. So please ignore the wild woman hair.. These are in order of purchase.

Blackwood blue FWP and turquoise Inlay TT; love, love this baby

    http://

Blackwood Burgandy Biwa Pearls and Copper Inlay (listed as purple, but they are identical)

    http://

Lacewood Celtic Knot with Malachite and Brass Inlay TT; my problem child, mostly because I thought it would be darker than it was and I was irritated with this poor stick for not looking more like blackwood. (I might be a little nuts )

    http://

Continued on the next post, as I've apparently exceeded my pic limit....

And the beloved TT that arrived just this morning. Blackwood Celtic Knot with Malachite and Brass Inlay; Yup I loved this baby on sight.....

Ok so I need some honest opinions on the lacewood stick. I have tried to sell it, ended up putting it on hold because I suddenly don't hate it as much now that I have the stick I wanted in the first place. I have an offer to trade it, which I'm tempted by since I have another Celtic stick already. But duplicates don't really bother me, I have 4 blue sticks and 3 purple, so the same colors aren't really an issue and these two sticks don't look that much alike.

What I really want is how it looks in my hair, that's whats causing all this indecision. I like it well enough but I'm not sure how I feel about it in my hair. It's the reason I ended up selling my holly sticks. I loved looking at them but felt they clashed with my hair. And while were trotting out opinions, here's another that I'm unsure about too.

Redheart and Malachite with Antique Gold Resin Inlay; Can't decide how I feel about it. I put it up for sale with no takers. I don't hate it at all, I'm just not sure it works for me personally

That is a tough call Sterlyn. They are all beautiful in your hair. I agree the darker black woods look best. Between the lacewood and redwood I prefer the red. When purchasing my sticks I keep in mind how they will look when my greys really take over. That is one of the reasons I stay away from holly, especially if there's a lot of holly showing. These sticks, though, don't bother me the same way. I think they all look great. I personally would let go of the lacewood because you'd still have the malachite in the red heart and the Celtic knot in the black wood. Good luck with your decision... It's a toughie

    Life's short...Buy the hair toy...

I appreciate the input. Redheart isn't a wood I usually buy. I have one other piece in redheart a grahtoe fork. The color schemes that can look good with gray have been a little challenging and it can vary lot from person to person. Willowyn wears colors that go with her hair beautifully, that look awful in my hair. This may be one of my few complaints with my hair color, some colors and woods I really like just look blah in my hair.

Maybe I'm the odd one out then. I have two of the thinner sticks, which unfortunately I don't wear much even though they're some of my favourites for pattern, because they don't hold that well. I do better with thicker sticks in general though - like LIs hold much better than Eads for me (though I have plenty of both.)

Thanks, Sterlyn. I always say the same about you, and that's definitely true with the blackwood sticks you've chosen. We both like that wood, but the blue and the light purple and the green are AMAZING with your silver hair. Since my hair is dyed a light champagne over the white, I can't wear the silver/blue combinations like you can. I kinda like the redheart and malachite on you. Not sure. Perhaps with clothing in those warmer tones? But I definitely don't like the laceheart one in your hair. Sorry. That one's not a good combination for me, either. It's warm, but there's something that doesn't work for me. So perhaps for someone with dark brown hair??
Your Blackwood Celtic Knot is gorgeous on you!! Mine arrived today - same design in the brazilian cherry with malachite and copper, and the flared top I so adore. It's p-e-r-f-e-c-t for me, just as that one is for you!

I really loved that Celtic Knot in cherry, I think cherry wood and malachite would work for me better than the reddish/orange that the redheart has. I am really hoping for an action shot of that one on you. And no apologies needed for a negative vote, I want honest opinions.

While I'm pretty sure I am done experimenting with different woods for my TT purchases, no matter how thudworthy the inlays might be, someday I may try one in cherry or rosewood. Maybe I should put that offer up for trade, my redheart in exchange for one of those woods. I like the redheart stick but I feel it looks like slender fire truck in my hair, too much orange in it for my hair or something.

I like all of them, but I agree the blackwood celtic knot looks better than the red heart and lace wood.

I received my first shipment of sticks from Sterlyn today, including this beautiful TT with burgundy BIWA pearls:

And this Turquoise Paisley stick came from slynr:

And she included this extra surprise that I wasn't expecting (a rare earth woodwork in padauk):

I love all three!!! Doug shipped my TOL today, and I have a short hot pink Chloe on blackwood coming in the mail from Sterlyn soon too. Can't wait to have them all and take a family photo!
