It does look like a good size for you, and it def shows enough of the stick I am feeling more confident about my 5inch choice now
And I think I will need some in a light wood colour next, the contrast of it in your dark hair is gorgeous!

    Aw, thanks! *blushing*

The other one i have is dark (African Blackwood Inlaid with Malachite and 14 Carat Gold Leaf); it's narrow but a bit over 6" long. I think the shorter ones really suit me better, since i'm short and my hair does tuck away small.

Oh this one is gorgeous too!!! I love green with gold!
I think you can get away with a longer stick in a dark wood colour like this one because the ends of the stick will blend more with your hair. But for a light wood colour that will pop more 5- 5 1/2 inches is def the perfect size for you.

My cat stick came in this morning and it is possibly the most striking TT I've ever seen. I knew it was going to be pretty, but it is out of this world.

I ended up ordering both a cat stick and a maple leaf stick on my custom spot. I justify it by having to only pay one shipping cost. After all the shipping cost is around 10% of the total cost so it's not negligible. Now there's just the wait for them to get here...

Does anyone of you own a TT stick made out of aspen and can take a pic of it? That would be great, because I think about aspen wood for my next CO but I can't find any pics of it

I think I remember that the tests Doug made with aspen wasn't succesful. If I'm not mistaken it was too soft and the laser engraving "blead". Don't take my word for it though, my memory is not always great.

You're right, I asked about aspen for my last custom and he said that it hadn't been a success. IIRC he tried it as a holly substitute back when he couldn't get any holly that wasn't spalted. Now that white holly is available again there's probably no reason to mess around with a replacement wood that doesn't turn well.
