I received the following convo from Doug this evening:I replied that I greatly appreciated all the trouble that he went to.Well, curiosity got the better part of me after work... and I'm standing by my original statement, it just doesn't look good in our opinion. Not only is it hard as a rock, (no pun intended) but it looks kind of like light blue washed out glass. I don't think you'll like it.
I decided on a 5" cocobolo Chloe with double (blue) turquoise inlay. He's going to make one for me.
He also said that he has a number of Chloes made up already that he will be posting soon. Not to enable anyone or anything.

You guys are all evil enablers!
His work is truly beautiful. I've had an idea for a hairstick in my head for some time, but I'm not sure if it's doable. It involves gemstone inlay too, and this is the first time I've seen a hairstick artist who comes close to already doing what I have in mind. I'm going to contact him to see if my design idea is even possible on a turned stick.
If it is, I'll be digging through my couch cushions for the spare cash to buy one!
