    cool

it was surprisingly easy. I made a few mistakes thought.
A dutch braid would have looked better. There is no need to braid too far up, I should have gathered all my hair earlier on.

Next time I'll try it dutch and stop braiding a lot earlier.

I tried the reverse braid, but I find all dutch/french braids really hard to do (I don't have patience). My nape hairs aren't that long and pretty thick so you can't really see a braid there.

    Here's the result:

I'm glad I could play too.

Well, the French twist comb didn't work, for the same reason the sock bun doesn't work - the layers that form my canopy are just too short. With the comb, they just fell out; with the sock bun, they just stick out like the tail of a rabid squirrel. UGH! Growing hair after age 50 SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has never taken me this long to grow out a short cut before, and the top seems to be growing even more slowly than the rest, rendering any kind of updo or style impossible. ARGH!!!

CrisDee, maybe a little bit of gel and a BBB helps secure things. It helps my bangs a lot (to fit into an updo). Just a little on the outer layers.

Ahhhh ... I just did a length check and I am about an inch and a half from APL.
I feel like this milestone is taking forever and a day, partially because I just had an half inch trim.
One thing I noticed is that there is very little space in between APL and BSL for me . Is this common?
Anyhow I am loving my hair though and looking forward to it growing out.

I think, this looks pretty good already. Maybe you could start with taking smaller strands for the braiding? My hair is only a little longer than yours. It's going to get easier real soon

It really depends on your body. For me, there is a lot of space between APL and BSL. But I wear my bras quite low, and they have 3 hooks instead of 1 or 2. I am also short-waisted, so the space between BSL and waist is quite small.

Bras are mend to be worn that way. If you wear them higher, you wear them wrong
