@tuanyiji,
I've never seen helices for hair in shops in my country or abroad except spin pins.
All the helices I bought, were from Etsy Shops known in the online long hair communities only (in most cases).
Many Chinese companies produce mainly for the export and not so much for domestic needs. I have the feeling, that some Chinese companies have people to browse the web to stalk the long hair communities for new inspirations. I have seen hair slides from Chinese manufacturers, which look like Flexi8-like clips, but usually, when the stick is not integrated, the stick is quite long and the Eigth very small in relation. But there are also clips like this with an integrated stick, but of course not XXL-size like from Lillarose.
Then I think that the Chinese manufacturer, who offers the bun cage I had linked previously, launched this product in the wake of a minimalist product line to attract a certain sphere of Western customers, who like it clean, straight, wabi-sabi or whatever you may call that Less is More-attitude. It is still an art to combine lesser amount of material with a solid manifacturing and aesthetic proportions, that the item becomes a "round thing". If buncages would be popular in China, I think it would look much more refined and it would have some flower accents with jade or coral included or simply rhinestones for the everyday wearing.
But I know also the Chinese Shop
Metal Art Space on Etsy, who makes very good minimalistic bun cages. I have the zig-zag shape of that. But it was a custom order, because I needed a diameter of 5 Inches for the cage with a fork of 6 Inches length - and all was meted out perfectly.
