Do any of you have ficcares where the teeth is cracking at the base?? I only recently got this ficcare, but there is a crack on the right side of the teeth. Sorry for the picture fuzziness, it was taken with my phone.

    Clickable

I can't tell if this is a crack in the gold paint or the metal itself.

I have inspected my other ficcares and 3 out of 4 have this issue in the exact same place (2 i got from the swap board, and 2 are new). What do I do? Is this a defect that can be fixed or I should try to get an exchange for or something?

I remember reading in the German thread about how some would use matching nail polish depending on the base of the ficcare or solder/weld it back up. My border jade has this and I'll probably weld it back together when it gets worse.

Thanks for responding turquoisedays, it's nice to know someone else is having this issue..., but it is a shame that Ficcare hasn't done anything to fix it. I only got this gold clip in mid August and it's already cracking. I'm really disappointed with the quality.

Yes, that's pretty horrible for $40-50. I am going to go and check mine.

Actually that´s pretty normal. You can put a little nail polish or epoxy on it. The only thing Ficcare did to prevent this is to produce the new Ficcarissimo without teeth.

Which is funny because my large ficcarissimo is the only one that DOESN'T have the cracking. Maybe the single set of teeth has more stress put on it then the double?

Either way, for $40 the teeth of this maxima should last longer than a month before they show wear.

The last two maxima which I´ve bought in a german shop were 56 € each. Believe me you don´t want to convert that in $. I just wish they still had the lime.

Yeah, the tooth thing is totally normal. Most of mine over a couple of years old have it (though a month seems a bit early). Then again, I rotate toys a LOT, so only two favorites get worn very much, and oddly enough - their teeth are fine.

I just thought I would share in case anyone is interested, the scratched silky I was talking about some time ago, I sprayed it with a shiny varnish. Had no problem applying it evenly and the scratches are almost completely covered up while you can't see there is a layer of varnish on the clip. I love this solution and I am in fact considering spraying my other clips just to protect them.
