Sadly, my hair is too short even for a small right now. Too many layer in baby fine hair...

I have two pairs of Mini Maximas (Ficcare calls them "pins"). I've worn the enameled pair every day since I got them. I haven't worn the silver ones, yet.

I still have a medium silver that I hope to grow into again. I may get a small when my hair grows out a little. If nothing else, maybe I can make a peacock twist with it sometime in the not-too-distant future!

I will post pic for sure when I get a second small to wear with my first one And probably before that from a sides-up.

I love, love, love my minis! Since I got them like.. I don't even remember, 13, 14, 15 years ago? I have worn them so much. I had two pairs, one silver and one silky blue. The blue ones lost their enamel. And I lost one of the original silver ones, so I have three left. I sold all my large Maximas when I cut my hair but the minis I continued to wear in my bangs. I just purchased a pair of golden minis and another pair of large golden minis, but I don't have them yet. I really want them in many colors, but I'm afraid that I will lose the enamel like I did with the blue ones. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that I wore them in wet hair so much.. Of course if the enamel bit isn't completely lost, it could be glued back on..

When I get the enamel paints I ordered, I will try them first on the minis. But I need a new silver pair then.. The shops in Europe don't have the mini maximas, sadly. They do have the ficcaritos so those are maybe an option..

Here is one of my secondhand clips, Primavera Picasso Tuscan sun, I love this so much, it's a perfect yellow for me! I really do think bright colors and the Jewels , and any shiny metals and bling look the best in my hair, and of course go well with my clothes. But I want some neutrals as well, ivory, vanilla, and such.

If I get any clips I don't love as much, but I know someone who would, I will pass them on. I have a longhaired friend who wants to try my clips, but I suspect a medium would be her size, or even a small as she recently cut her hair a little shorter. She really has not money to buy expensive clips, so I would love to gift her some, but alas, the Larges will be too big for her... My sister is letting hers grow a little bit, like around shoulder length and with her thick hair, she could wear a medium best I think.. or maybe even a small. My niece has midback length thick hair and could use a large. Anyway, I'd love to spread some Ficcare goodness around.




And here is my vanilla Leo, which I also like a lot, even though I'm not generally crazy about animal prints. The combo on vanilla, ivory and gold is just delicious!

How do you feel about the Signature clip? And is the hold similar to the Innovation? Is the large very large? Is it good for thick hair? Is it pretty or weird?

Yes it is strange they don't have the minis, as they do have the ficcaritos.

And today's choice is the Blue Jeans! Of the secondhand clips I got, this one is the most worn. It has some very light scratches on the surface and tarnish on the inside. I will try to polish and clean her up, but even if I couldn't, nobody would notice anything when I wear it. I do like this one too, and it will be interesting to see which ones become my favorites.
I got quite lucky as someone with a huge collection was selling it all, with both old and new clips, and she gave me a big discount for buying a large pile. I could have bought pretty much all of them, she had quite nice taste! It was so difficult to choose which ones to get, but I wanted to get some Lotuses just for the purpose of stripping the enamel and modding them to be Jewels! And I'm also thinking of putting crystals on some of them.

I think I officially gave up my idea of trying to limit myself to twenty, or two dozen, or whatever amount of clips. And ten or twelve was so totally not doable I think Izzy has the right idea, it's not how many you have, it's how many of the ones you have, you actually wear!

I tried a braided bun. It's trying to bloinky bloink out of the clip, which is not placed in the middle.. But I like it! The braided bun + the Feather Fic was a good suggestion
ETA: Excuse the dust / cat hair/ petulant curly white new hair growing from head, my hair seriously needs a wash and has not been brushed in like 10 days since the last wash, so it is a dust bowl





I still have the pink Chevron to try. I don't know which one I will sacrifice to modding. Not the green one, for sure. I should post a line-up of action pics of all the three to easily compare...

I do think gold is definitely nice in my hair, though I don't yet have anything with visible silver in it, except the minis. Bright shiny silver is also good, I think. Anyway. The light conditions are not exactly the same in the pictures, I should take pics with the same light to really look at how they play with my hair. But I think none are bad.

Oh my, frizzy damp hair after a wash.. but I wanted to take a picture of the small Gold Jewel Lotus.
I will just have to figure out ways to wear small clips.. or maybe at some point someone will want tor trade down in size, you never know, even though most people will probably want to trade up, and the smalls are easier to find in rare styles. Which is why I have this one. But I also wanted to see and try one on in real life and it is too sweet!

Have you tried using it in a log roll or flipped braid?

Okay, here is some kind of roll, where the upper loop is held with the small clip. I had to take it down almost immediately though, as it was not comfortable and triggered a migraine I think the position in the crown area is tricky for me.
I will have to play around more and also try a flipped braid bun. Maybe I can get the small hold alone some sort of bun..

ETA: I tried a few different things, but could not get the S to hold.
