I did pick up my clips yesterday! Oh they are lovely. I got an old dark amethyst, and it is such a deep and mysterious color! In dim light it looks almost black with just a glimmer of plum here and there. It is a little bit darker than I thought it would be though. It\ thought it would maybe be at the level of silky wine. I also got a small gold Jewel Lotus, which is so sweet and such a beautiful color, I love it so much. Of course I can only wear it for pulling up the sides.

These were my two splurge clips, then I got several new edition second hands and a couple new ones from the store. Yesterday I received a green Chevron and Vanilla Leo, both of which I like better than I expected. I will take pictures of all my clips when I wear them. I will try them out today for sure. I did try the little golden one yesterday though since I had never owned a small before. I'd never seen one either, and I'd never seen a Jewel clip in real life. So I was super excited, and I can say they don't disappoint. They do feel like jewelry for hair, things to cherish and take care of. Of course last night I had a dream that I had both the Jewel clips in a bag on the floor somehow and I stepped on them and broke them Maybe it was a reminder to myself that in the end these are just things, and while things should be enjoyed, they are not our true treasures...

Okay, I had to try on the Green Chevron / Feather /Leaf and I love it! I bought two other colors second hand that I'm waiting to get soon. This pattern is just awesome, I hope they will produce more colors! Though I'm thinking of modding one to be a Jewel, and possible add crystals too.

Aaah I wish I could see the pictures.

Chevron is a a pattern that I absolutely want, but I haven't found a colorway I couldn't live without. Chevron x Jeweltones would be amazing I think. O.O

Haha yes and yes, for sure I'm kind of impatient, and when I get excited about something I go all in. Sometimes it's good, sometimes I could use some reigning in.. I happen to have some spare money though, so even though I feel a little bit crazy and indulgent, I can afford it at this time. Also, the inflation thing is real. These clips won't get any cheaper, so why not buy now. Also finding so many second hand for half the normal price was too tempting!

My life has been incredibly sh*tty for a long time, I mean if it was a movie script it would sound made-up, who has this much terrible stuff in their life... so then I just go like, if I get joy out of putting my hair up with colorful clips, then why not.. I also am at the point here that my hair just reached the point where I have never grown it longer than this since I was a child, though I've had many attempts at growing my hair long. Having fun with hair accessories will help me enjoy my hair now that I need to put it up more. I've never been a collector of anything, I'm more of an editor and de-stasher and get overwhelmed by excess stuff to take care of, but there is something about these clips... They are the best thing ever to hold my hair, so very practical and useful, and they work as a piece of jewelry at the same time, they make even a very casual outfit seem more put-together.. You can insert some bright color into a neutral outfit.. They make very nice gifts to people with long hair.. and they don't take much space at all so they don't feel like a burden. I probably won't end up keeping any clips that I don't actually wear, just for the sake of having them in my collection.

I don't have a lot of clothes, we don't have much space for them, so I will only have things I love and wear all the time, and the same for my DD who is quite the natural minimalist and frugal person. I wanted to buy her a sweater, as the one I knitted her turned out way too big, and I don't know when I get around knitting another one. I showed her some nice ones at a shop where they had a 50% off sale. At normal prices I would not have considered anything from the shop. DD was still appalled at the prices and said that we can look elsewhere for cheaper ones! But I told her that I can buy you something expensive too every once in a while, and then she saw one she loved and I got that for her. Most of her clothes are inexpensive sweats, hoodies and t-shirts and she couldn't care less about labels, so I usually only spend more money on quality shoes and winter clothes for her. I also sew and she will wear things I make.

Very accurate description - exactly why I love them too & I'm also normally not a fan of excess stuff, but I would buy so many if I had the means to do it.

My black strike it gold L maximas arrived a few days ago. Of course I have been lounging around the house in scrunchies, but I will wear it out soon!

Oh this is on my list and now I'm even more eager to get it - so pretty.

I said I would hand in pictures of my new babies as soon as I'd gain the ability to do so, here they are.

Going backwards through the thread looking at all the pictures, there's quite some temptation lurking.
I like the old Dark Amethyst Jewel so much better than my Lotus Jewel Amethyst (first edition). O.O
Silky sea blue has to go on my list 100%.

(But for some reason I can't see lot of the pictures except for when they're in quote replies. Need to look at the tech board I guess to figure out why. )

Rosenester, that is very classy looking! Love it in your hair. You have the kind of hair color though that looks great with almost anything, I suspect.
Aeryss, both are very lovely with your hair color, the Opal is especially stunning but the beige one (is it stone) looks like a great neutral go-with-anything color for you and the tone is really nice against your hair color!

The amethyst is my least favorite of all the Jewel colors, the only one that doesn't really tempt me, because purple is generally not a color I go for very often in anything.. except I loved the old dark amethyst with the dark plummy wine color, because it is more red than actual purple to me... Even though it turned out to be darker than I expected.

The new collections have many very tempting colors, I just wish there were more pictures of them already so it would be easier to choose. Not that I am in a hurry to buy more because I have bought quite a few already

    Okay a question!
What do you consider a good find in terms of old collection clips (like non-glittery Primaveras and Multistripes, Jewels and Curvies and such) and price? Is it a good find if its under 70$, 100$ or 150$?
What about the glittery pieces, Diamonds, Superstars, Primaveras, Multistripes?
