I love millet: I eat it for breakfast with yogurth and almonds, and it's really good.
My mother also cook it in a lot of ways, really tasty!
it's good for hair because it's full of silicium and metionina
I think I used to eat it for breakfast as a kid; puffed millet in a bag. Tasty stuff.

Hi Thanks, I use millet in a lot of different ways but now i will use it more extensively. In india we call it Raagi. I would like to use bajra and Jowar too which are also millets. My millet is really pinkish brown and really dark. I make indian dosa's with it along with brown rice. Its tasty and my kids also eat them too. I want to start eating fenugreek with yogurt too...
This was interesting but what exactly is millet??
I´havent found in the dictionary
Yes, I found it! =) It is called "hirs" in swedish!!

Thanks soo much for the advice . I think I'll start eating curd with millet AND fenugreek. I'm also growing out my dreadfully damaged hair, so any boost in growth would be great. And best of all; eating this will benefit my skin and body as well.
So for the overnight soaking of millet, should you use a proportion of twice as much water as millet for the soak? Or 3x as much water as millet? I would soak it and then heat it up in the microwave and eat with yogurt & fruit for breakfast.

First of all: thank you all for the interest you have shown to this thread. I am glad you are considering trying it out!
here is a little more about the millet: http://chetday.com/millet.html
Canarygirl: I put just the amount of water to cover the millet in the cup, nothing more. I fill the cup, drain water two times, then cover the millet. Millet doesn't absorb much water.
Amatullah: I hope it helps. I think that fenugreek was more of a "wow" effect, because that was my first food experiment in order to improve hair. but it still is pretty hard to find here, and on the other hand we have a lot of millet...so it was normal for me to try this too.
also, when repairing the hair - beware of the buildup. I had a feeling I should cut off all the damaged hair, because it was impossible to comb. then I put a mud mask with salt and it was better. I had too much buildup from all the products I was trying.
Sokudo: I think it is better raw-even cooking it gives it another taste, which I do not like.
