    Question Quick Breakage Question

I have what I *think* is breakage on the top layer of my hair, but I'm a little confused. The hair sticks out and seems more fragile than the rest of my hair, but upon closer inspection really doesn't look damaged. I was kind of surprised, actually. No splits, just some light tapering of the length. Is this what breakage looks like, or am I confusing it with baby hair?

I usually only see baby hairs around my hairline, but they probably are throughout my scalp. Have you noticed 'shedding' any broken hairs? You might want to check your shed hairs to see if they have roots, if most of them do, the hairs you are seeing are probably just baby hairs.

I do check my shed hair, and have never found one that appears "broken off." Roots are always intact.

If they are tapered at the tips, they are new growth (aka "baby hairs")
