According to Wikipedia, it's basically Vitamin E. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tocopheryl_acetate
I'd try out the all natural and see how it goes. The 100% would probably be nicer, but if you're on a budget I'd give the cheaper one a chance.
Question for you sweet almond oil lovers: At Whole Foods, they sell the Aura Cacia brand and there are two versions of the 4oz bottle: the "all-natural" oil for $5.99 (ingredients: almond oil and tocopheryl acetate) or the "organic" for $13.99 (ingredients: 100% organic almond oil). My question is this: how does the tocopheryl acetate affect skin, hair, and the oil - and is there a noticeable difference in effectiveness? What do your ingredient lists say?

The tocopheryl acetate is Vitamin E and is simply there as a preservative.
Unless you're firmly committed to "organic only" in all things in your life, I see no reason to pay the extra money. I got the cheaper one and my hair LOVED it.
Ooooohhh! I just ordered some today! Can't wait to try it out and see if I like it as much as all of you! : )

Thanks WittyWordsmith and GRU! Cheap version it is!

I got a cheap almond oil and is the best thing I ever tried. My hair is not dry anymore, and it's softer. No crunchy ends. Is the best oil for me.
I'm swiftly falling in love with this stuff.

just bought a little 100ml bottle of this in with my EO order to give it a try as it seems much cheaper than coconut oil and I wanted to try something else for my OCM wash. I've mixed some 2 parts coconut : 1 part sweet almond : a few drops of peppermint oil (Im feeling really sick at the moment and the smell of peppermint wafting from my hair helps keep the sickly feeling at bay). So I'm going to try the pure aweet almond for my OCM and see how the mixture goes for my hair - I shall keep you updated

Years ago I acquired a can of wig spray that put a grace of lanolin in the hair. I loved it! When it ran it out I kept trying to find more but it was obsolete. I've continued to seek it and this winter found sweet almond oil in an aerosol can! It was the size of a large hair spray and about twelve bucks. I use it as a detangler. It really helps slick my hair, taming flyaways, hiding or slicking down splits, and bringing the shine back out. Too much and my hair can get heavy but the aerosol format really helps. I'd tell you the brand but my chihauhua is curled up sweetly on my lap, so I don't want to get up.
My hair likes sweet almond oil even better than coconut oil. Hope you're feeling better soon, afu!
