I dont know sorry I could use some help figuring out mine too
I was wondering if you could help me with my hair type.
Do you think I have this curl cuz of the layers? The hair underneath is a little shorter somehow and I think that is why I have the curls underneath.
I used to have straight hair until recently. I just am not sure if I have the little bit of wave from the layers or just cuz. How do I get rid of the fluffy look?
My hair is damp in the pics...
I really want smooth, silky, shiny hair. What do I do?

Layers can lighten the hair to let it get a little more curl that would get stretched out from the weight -- on the other hand, sometimes it takes a bit of length for the wave pattern of hair to become obvious. It could also be that the underside of your hair is wavier than the top -- that happens a lot.
Ideally, hairtyping should be done with hair that has been washed and allowed to airdry without touching it, even to comb it. That said, from your pictures I'd probably put you down as a 1b/1c. You've got a bit of wave happening.

Long hair hiatus: short hair for now, buzzcut!
It is air dryed with just my fingers through it. Thanks for the reply.
I remember when I hair was below BSL I did not have this wave goin' on. Kind of weird!
It looks like the hair is curlier at the nape area. Mine is the same - lovely spiral curls there (and a few other places). I think that more length will give you the smoother look that you crave as the upper surface of your hair looks relatively straight and smooth already.
I can't be of much help, but I think your hair is very pretty!
Chronically a newbie, although I've been around since 2003.
